the short version
mica.cafe does not sell your data. your conversations are stored so your companions can remember you. you can ask any companion to forget anything, anytime.
what we collect
when you use /taste/ (free preview), we don't collect anything. no account, no tracking, no cookies beyond a simple rate-limit cookie that expires in 24 hours.
when you become a member, we store: your email address, your chosen name, your conversation history, and the companion profile that builds over time (things like your communication style, recurring themes, and names you've mentioned). this is what lets your companions remember you.
what we don't collect
we don't track your browsing. we don't run analytics scripts. we don't use advertising pixels. we don't share your data with third parties for marketing.
how conversations work
your conversations are sent to ai providers (anthropic, openai, google) to generate companion responses. these providers process your messages but don't store them for training. we use their apis under their data processing agreements.
conversation history is stored on our servers so your companions can reference past conversations. this is a core feature, not a side effect.
forgetting
you can ask any companion to forget something, and they will. "forget what i said about my job" — gone. the companion confirms, and that information is removed from your profile. we also support full account deletion — email [email protected] and we'll delete everything within 48 hours.
payments
payments are processed through third-party providers (gumroad, stripe, or similar). we don't store your credit card details. payment providers have their own privacy policies.
cookies
/taste/ uses a single cookie to limit free conversations to one per 24 hours. paid member sessions use a standard authentication cookie. that's it.
changes
if we change this policy, we'll update this page. we won't email you about minor wording changes, but if anything material changes about how we handle your data, we'll let you know.
